CHĀI 拆 DEMOLITION
拆 (CHĀI) is the Chinese character for "demolish, dismantle".
Chāi 拆 Demolition is a work about China, a visual analysis of the Chinese urban life.
Many large scale urban planning projects are interfering with the rhythm and form of the life of many metropolis inhabitants.
The work consists of a short video about the transformation and the drastic change of a small neighborhood where I used to live and a photo series about Chinese streets and the everyday life in the courtyard houses (hutongs) in Beijing.
